Update from a new script

Read a changed script on the web, publish it, and keep what the Studio already set up.

Bring a new version of the script into a show that is already built, without losing its shots and choices. See Published versions.

  • The show in the Studio is linked to its web show. See Import a script.
  • You have the new script. A small change, such as a cut section, can also be made on the web directly, without a new script.

Open the show on Live Producer Platform and click Import Script Version. Choose the new script and click Read and Merge. Sections and parts found again keep their resources and notes; the new and changed ones are listed afterwards.

Check the changes and click Publish Version N, with a note of what changed. See Publish a version.

With Showrunner › Follow the Web Show on, the version lands by itself between Takes, and the web show bar says what it brought. Nothing else to do.

With it off, click Fetch Version N in the web show bar, or choose Showrunner › Pull Version N…. The sheet Update Show from the Web lists the changes under Changes: new sections and parts, removed ones, and what changed in each. Check them and click Update Show.

In the new version In the Studio
A section or part found again Keeps its identity, notes and shots; gets the new words and times
A new part Gets its material: shots, a clip, a lower third
A removed part Leaves the rundown; its shots stay. On air, it stays until the next Take

The web show bar says Up to Date · Version N. The Showrunner’s list shows the new sections and parts, and the prompter the new words.
